A Reminder to Pause and Honour the Journey

Enjoy Every Moment

A note to myself:

As the vision of Atelier Caravaggio comes to life, I find myself in the same shoes as each of the brides who come to me for bespoke bridal gowns.

I am giddy with excitement, emotional seeing my dream catch its first breath, and in awe of those who have been there to bring it to life in the way that I’d always imagined, yet may not have always known exactly how to articulate.

Being immersed in the world of bridal for over three years, it’s only now that I can clearly see the gap that I will fill in this space. It’s a beautiful realization. There is so much comfort in clarity. It’s often something I pray for, but it amazes me each time my eyes are opened with a fresh perspective, seeing what has been true all along.

This is just the beginning.

A note to the bride:

There is truly nothing that comes to fruition in the exact way it was planned.

The moment of getting engaged was likely pure bliss. It is so important to be reminded of that feeling as you begin planning. After going through each of the motions myself, and having experienced all of the joy and stress, my most important suggestion would be this; pause.

Take time, and allow yourself to contemplate whether or not each decision aligns with how you want the day to feel. Please remember that the time from engagement to wedding day is just as much the wedding itself. I wish I had recognized that. Each vendor is not just someone to provide you something, but instead each one is a person within whom you are placing trust. As someone who works with brides every day, reinforcing the fact that I am here to realize her vision and not my own is paramount.

Allow yourself the time to understand what your vision is, and how you want to feel. You are deserving of your time and attention.

You have permission to romanticize this experience, decide how it will best come to life, and then proceed forward. God willing, this is a singular event in your life, and having the moment captured by the most fitting of photographers, being draped in the most beautiful of dresses designed by someone who understands your vision, and having this day take place in the most perfect of places are all worthy of your consideration.

For those of you looking for a bespoke garment, veil or gown, that is truly one-of-one, my life has been built on realizing the dream of the bride in how she wants to look and feel.

Here to offer you exactly what it is you desire - no compromises.

With sincere gratitude,

Erin Caravaggio
